  • ubuntu-latest seems fine for Kotlin
  • For swift I've updated the swift action to swift-setup which seems like a more rent maintained one. When Fix GPG key import swift-actions/setup-swift#772 is fixed we can probably move back to an ubuntu runner. To get it working I've used macos runner and updated the toolchain.

I've tried to get ubuntu runners running for the swift validation with setup-swift which seems to be the most appropriate action. That has failed but I think there may be a fix coming -> swift-actions/setup-swift#772

I wasn't able to get swift 5.7 version with macos as I doesn't seem to be working with any versions of xcode that the GH runners support.
